Edit: In light of recent events concerning @askthedr, I’ll be removing the original news update and replacing it with the Twitter feed from Shytoshi Kusama.

It was the week before Shibmas, and all through the chain,

not a token was stirring, no one made gains;

the stocks were down also, by the hedgies short shares;

for the regular retail market, they showed zero cares;

the Shibians were restless, all crypto seemed dead;

while visions of lambos, danced in their heads;

when out in the ether, there arose such a clatter;

Shibian’s pulled out their phones, to see what was the matter;

away like a rocket, SHIB rose like a flash;

tore past all-time high, new records it did smash;

the moon now in reach, the earth down below;

Shibarium had launched, and the cash it did flow.

   *As we approach the 25th, and the end of the year, I think it’s important to remember that it’s ok to have fun. Investing is serious business in the first place but, with crypto, the volatility often leads to emotional trauma. Especially when you bought in high and are now wondering if you should take what you have left and try to make money elsewhere (I’ll tell you a secret investment strategy few people know about. If you sell every time you’re down, you’ll never make money). It’s times like these that all you can do is step back and try to spin a little positivity into your life. This poem is my sad attempt at that. My small bit of Christmas cheer to you.*

    *In an effort to support and continue that type of positivity, I’m going to be including a section at the bottom dedicated to those Shibians that create something special and unique. A way to recognize those artists and authors who provide their own contributions to the community. It could be art, memes, or even just well written Reddit posts that stand out from the crowd. There may not be a submission every week but, when there is, be sure to go out and give that person some much deserved praise. This week’s recognition goes to **u/beepborpimajorp** for her Christmas Shib art.*

    *That’s just it though. What can you do but hodl and try to have a little fun at times like these? Why not spread some joy and show others why the SHIB community is the best? Most of us are not hedge funds or crypto brokers. We’re investors. And investor means long term. It also means we don’t always have to act so serious all the time. So, instead of looking at your SHIB bag as if it’s full of coal, look at it as if it’s got a timer on it and you’re just counting down the days/weeks/months/years it takes for that bag to pop. One of my favorite quotes is from the 2004 movie, The Girl Next Door. It goes, “Always know if the juice is worth the squeeze”. Well, my friends, the SHIB, BONE, and LEASH juice is well worth the squeeze. It’s just going to take some time before that juice cup runneth over.*

    *And what can you do once those gains are made? Are you going to sell for FIAT and pay the fees it will take to cash out into your bank account from a CEX? Isn’t the long-term goal of the SHIB project to become a global standard in decentralized finance? Why would you send your money right back into the centralized finance world of banking? What if there was a better way?*

     *It’s these question’s that we’ll try to answer in this week's issue. We’ll cover three of the bigger “crypto as currency” platforms and how they work. Each one is different and unique, and they all have their own pros and cons, but; it’s a way for you to utilize your SHIB gains without paying the fees required to cash out. We’ll also take a look at existing governance tokens in preparation for the launch of DoggyDao. On top of that we’ll discuss a project, and token, that was inspired by Ryoshi and is looking to become the “Worlds First DEX Fund”. All three of these topics are important aspects of what a truly decentralized financial system will look like in the future.*
